Peter Pichler Architecture is excited to reveal the design for a new residential development in St. Johann in Tirol, Austria. After demolishing the existing buildings, 60% of the site’s green space will be preserved and transformed into a park, enhancing the connection to nature.
The project features three residential buildings, with 62 apartments and smaller office spaces. The design blends vernacular architecture with contemporary elements, creating a unique and modern identity. The buildings are oriented south to maximize daylight and offer stunning views of the Kitzbüheler Horn and Kaisergebirge mountains.
Inspired by the region’s tradition, the use of pitched roofs, exposed concrete, and local larch wood creates a striking contrast. Generous terraces and loggias are integrated into the design, offering privacy while enhancing the building’s connection to the landscape. This development is not just a place to live—it’s an experience shaped by nature and local materials.
