The project is located in Bavaria, South Germany, and conceived as a lively place for music and culture following the existing castle’s tradition as a cultural stronghold. The new project sees itself as an evolution of tradition and respects the existing building ensemble around the Palace forecourt and takes up typical architectural elements such as the gable roof and local materials. PPAs proposal consists of transforming the old barn into the new concert hall, which opens onto the newly designed square and allows plenty of light and views. The concert hall is designed to be flexible and accommodate various events. Retractable rows of seats and the height-adjustable stage allow a generous area that can be used in different ways. The double front glazing of the concert hall is integrated the “blackout” curtain during orchestral events remains closed.
