A private residence in the Austrian Alps, composed of four interconnected volumes responding to site, light, and privacy.
The project is located in the Austrian Alps and explores contemporary living through a spatial composition inspired by regional architectural heritage. The design is organised into four interconnected volumes—living, sleeping, kitchen, and spa/pool—each positioned to balance functionality, privacy, and natural light.
The sleeping area is located near the main entrance, ensuring privacy and ease of access, while the kitchen volume is oriented toward the morning light to create bright and welcoming shared spaces. The spa and pool volume is positioned forward on the site, forming a sheltered and private retreat in close relationship with the landscape.
The building is slightly elevated to respond to the natural terrain, while green roofs extend across the entire structure, visually integrating it into its surroundings. Carefully calibrated openings frame panoramic views, optimise daylight, and maintain visual connections with the internal courtyard. Pitched roofs and proportions reinterpret alpine vernacular architecture, allowing the building to integrate respectfully within the local built context.
