A private residence in Tramin, South Tyrol, designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding vineyards and terrain.
The design responds directly to the topography, unfolding as a continuous architectural gesture that follows the terrain. Its fluid geometry allows the building to sit lightly on the landscape while minimising its visual impact from the nearby village. At the centre of the residence, an internal courtyard creates a sheltered outdoor space protected from prevailing winds, providing privacy and comfort.
Material choices, orientation, and scale are carefully calibrated to local climatic conditions and the surrounding landscape. Large glazed openings frame the views and bring natural light deep into the interiors, reinforcing a continuous dialogue between indoor and outdoor spaces. The project results in a contemporary alpine residence shaped by its relationship with place, topography, and climate.
